PhD. Economics, (1996) and MSc. Economics (1991) from Queen Mary College, (University of London). BA. Economics degree, Guildhall University (London, 1990). George joined the University of Manchester in the academic year 1995/96. Co-director of the Centre of Growth and Business Cycles Research (CGBCR, 2016-date). Editor of The Manchester School, (2009-date). Committee Member of the Money, Macro and Finance Research Group (MMF) and Editor of the MMF’s Annual Conference Issue at the Manchester School (2009-date). Editorial Board of Economic and Political Studies. Undergraduate Director, Economics, (University of Manchester, 2009-2012). Academic visiting positions incude, Brunel University, University of Athens, and King''s College (London). George has published on a large variety of research areas and journals including, Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Journal of International Money and Finance, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Economics Letters, European Journal of Political Economy, The Manchester School, Economic Modelling, Journal of Socio-Economics, Applied Economics, Economics Bulletin, Applied Economics Letters.
