I am based in: Amsterdam

Born and raised in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, now living in Amsterdam with husband and three daughters.

When I was eleven years old, I went to CISV, an international summer camp. Here I met boys and girls from many different countries and I learned about the change you can make in the world. It started my fascination with international cooperation. 

After finishing school, I took a gap year in Mexico and Chile. Then I studied international relations and law at the University of Amsterdam, where I became intrigued by environmental and social standards in international business. To pursue my dream of working for an international organization, I moved to Brussels to learn more about political dynamics and decision-making. After three years with the EU institutions, I returned to Amsterdam to join ING Group.

Defining corporate citizenship and sustainability strategies, meeting inspiring people in and outside the company, and getting opportunities to start up social initiatives are aspects I enjoy very much in my work. My current role at NN Group coincides perfectly with my purpose. I am passionate about uniting strengths, in life and in business, and motivated by constantly asking myself "Am I doing enough to make a positive change?" What fascinates me is the potential of social innovation and I am a strong supporter of women empowerment. When I''m not working, I like to be with family and friends, travel, run, do yoga, and read.

The Executive Leadership Program will give me a chance to reflect on where I am and redefine or reconfirm where I want to be. People with different approaches, mindsets, and backgrounds have always been the ones to inspire me and I am sure to meet many of them here at THNK.
