About

Fady Harfoush is the director of the CME Group Foundation Business Analytics Lab and an executive lecturer in the Quinlan School of Business.  Prior to joining Quinlan, Fady served as the Director of Data Warehouse and Applications Development for Thomson Reuters, a leading provider of multiple aggregated financial data. Fady is also the co-founder of Social Market Analytics. SMA''s award-winning sentiment signature uses patented algorithms and analytics framework to distill the vast social media big data into actionable intelligence by providing real-time predictive analysis for trading algorithms and business insights.

Fady began his career at Fermi High-Energy Physics Laboratory developing numerical techniques to simulate in 3-D complex particle accelerator problems. After a successful period of proven accomplishments that earned him recognition globally, he decided to transition to Wall Street.  His new career quickly earned him credibility in the field. He has held numerous prominent roles at prestigious hedge fund firms, major financial institutions and leading financial data providers. His responsibilities have included data analytics & visualization, large data aggregation, enterprise risk management, trading systems & technologies, modeling techniques, financial data, systems integration, and building from inception production-ready, turn-key solutions.

Fady speaks four languages fluently, and enjoys international travel and global multi-cultural engagements. His favorite retreat spot is somewhere along the Aegean sea on the Mediterranean.
