Philanthropy, both individual and institutional (foundations), is her main research topic, with a specific focus on social impact, concepts and methods of impact and social innovation as a driver for strengthening our welfare systems. For this resason, her research studies look at third sector organizations both as donors and recipients of funds, in their role of social innovation drivers and important players in much debated topics.

She is author of several contributions on nonprofit sector and philanthropy, published with international editors such as Springer, Routledge and Palgrave MacMillan, and national editors such as Franco Angeli ed Egea. She has been awarded the Italian Research on Philanthropy Awards (IRPAs) for two years, with a study on Italian foundations and social impact evaluations, and the role of Italian foundations as drivers of social innovations in Italy. Despite her international research profile, she collaborates with several nonprofit organizations in Milan and Italy.

She earned a PhD on global philanthropy with the Department of Global Health and Development of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and got her MSc and Bachelor in Public Management at Bocconi University. Her international activities brought her to deepen her connections with international research networks on third sector and philanthropy (ERNOP, ARNOVA, ISTR) and leadership programmes (IVLP). Deeply passionate about science, literature and music, her interests cover any field where private creativity meets the public good.
