University of Zurich

David Risi is a Research Professor of Responsible Management at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (Business) since September 2020. He is also an affiliated senior research fellow at the University of St. Gallen and an affiliated postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich. David combines empirical and conceptual methods in his work, which focuses on business ethics and management theory. He is a member of the Editorial Review Board of Journal of Management Studies, included in the Financial Times Top 50 journals list.

David was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford (Saïd Business School) and a lecturer at the School of Management and Law at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). For several years, he also worked for a management consulting firm as a sustainability reporting analyst.

His research has appeared in practice-oriented articles, book chapters, leading international journals such as Business & Society and Journal of Management Studies, and the Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings. He is the author of Corporate Social Responsibility (Elements in Business Strategy), published by Cambridge University Press in 2019. His research has received various awards, including the 2017 Academy of Management Social Issues in Management Best Dissertation Award.

In various university bachelor and (executive) master programs, David has taught, among others, Introduction to Business Administration, Organization and Management Theory, Strategic Sustainability Management, Management Decision Making, and Business Ethics.
