Harvard Medical School

Serves as a leader in the Center for Education and is responsible for the management of educational technology resources within the Center, including the Shapiro Simulation and Skills Center. This role is essential in executing the Education Strategic Plan and serves as Project Manager for the strategic plan implementation.

The Carl J. Shapiro Simulation and Skills Center runs run several hundred training courses per year for medical students, residents, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers. Our courses could be as basic as a suturing session for a small group or as complicated as a multi-victim trauma scenario. We use robotic patients, partial task trainers, and virtual reality simulators in our teaching. The center is equipped with a full suite of cameras, microphones, and servers to allow us to capture every nuance of the simulation to use in an interactive debriefing session with our faculty.
