David is an award-winning Senior Executive who consistently delivers extraordinary results. Renowned as a change agent who motivates teams through a collaborative and entrepreneurial leadership style, David has gained his deep marketing and sales experience by building high growth start-ups and stewarding iconic brands within Canadian and International organizations.

Most recently, David was Chief Commercial Officer for Canopy Growth, the world’s leading diversified cannabis company. With operations in over a dozen countries across five continents, Canopy Growth has established partnerships with leading names including icons Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg and Seth Rogen.

As Chief Commercial Officer, David led a team of 300 marketing and sales professionals, and oversaw the global commercial agenda for recreational and therapeutic (CBD) products. This included scaling an ambitious innovation program that over an 18-month period introduced disruptive innovations across beverages, vapes, edibles, and topicals for Canada, the U.S. and parts of Europe.

Before joining Canopy Growth, David was both VP Marketing and VP Sales at Molson Coors Canada. Here, David was best known for leading the rejuvenation of the iconic Molson Canadian brand, resulting in Top Marketer Honours in 2010, 2011, and 2014. His award-winning achievements include the ‘Red Fridge’ campaign, which received the Grand Prix at the Canadian Marketing Effectiveness Awards, as well as a Silver Lion at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity. David also launched industry-leading innovations including Molson Canadian 67 and Coors Banquet - the most successful launch within the beer category over an 8-year period. He served as Global Chair of the Molson Brand Council responsible for brand stewardship and oversaw the launch of Molson Canadian into Ireland and Australia.

David began his career with Unilever in progressive sales and marketing roles, before spending five years agency side, opening the Toronto office of Arlene Dickinson’s Venture Communications. David drove strategy and agency revenue across tier one clients like Toyota, Subway Restaurants, Forzani Group, Canada’s Walk of Fame and the Canadian Cancer Society.

David is admired for his ability to inspire teams with his openness to innovative ideas and his entrepreneurial mindset, combining his creativity and commercial acumen to generate actions that deliver tangible results.
