Biography
NUS Institute of Systems Science
David Hufton graduated from Kings College, Cambridge in 1975, and went on to complete an MSc in Statistics at Imperial College, London. Since then he has worked for a wide spectrum of companies during his forty years in Industry, including Aerospace companies, IT companies Government Departments and Academic Institutions. He has applied a wide number of techniques in many different application areas.
During his time in the UK he worked in planning, cost estimating and hardware and software reliability analysis, and also statistical analysis of geographical data. He was also involved in managing vendor selection and vendor management. When he moved to Singapore to work for NUS, he continued to work and teach in project planning and estimation but also became involved in business analytics and knowledge engineering areas; including Business Analytics and Recruitment Analysis.
Since his retirement from NUS in 2012, David has been engaged in consultancy for ISS/NUS and other Singapore based-companies. continuing his work in estimation and planning, and also teaching Statistical Analysis and Customer Analytics at NUS.
