Daniel Tarsy received his undergraduate degree at Cornell University and MD degree at NYU School of Medicine. He received neurology training at Boston University School of Medicine followed by fellowships in movement disorders at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Institute of Psychiatry, London.

Dr. Tarsy has studied the behavioral and biochemical pharmacology of brain neurotransmitters and carried out clinical trials of new treatments for Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, tremor, and tardive dyskinesia. He established the stereotactic DBS program and dystonia/botulinum toxin clinic at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

He is Chair of the Movement Disorders section of the American Academy of Neurology and the Education Committee of the Movement Disorders Society and has been on the editorial boards of the journals Movement Disorders and Parkinsonism and Related Disorders.
