Dan Torbiak

Dan Torbiak, B. Comm. (Hons.)/80, FCPA, FCA is an Asper Executive-in-Residence. He helps develop relationships between the Asper School and the Manitoba business community. He is a sessional lecturer in Taxation at the Asper School and coaches students for the annual JDC-West case competition. He lectures in Corporate Taxation at the Robson Hall Law School and is a Financial Counselor to medical students at the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. He enjoyed a 30-year career as an accountant and tax advisor, serving as a partner with PwC and Deloitte. He is Chief Tax Appeals Commissioner for Manitoba.

Dan’s community involvement includes having served on the boards of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (Manitoba Chapter), Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Rotary Club of Winnipeg, the Reh-Fit Centre, the Holy Family Home and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Winnipeg (Banking & Investment Committee). He is Treasurer of Immigrant Centre Manitoba and a board member of the CPA Manitoba Foundation.
