Barbara Majoor

Barbara Majoor (1965) is Professor of Accountancy at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. She is Director of the Center for Auditing and Assurance.

As of 2008, she is a member of the working committee “Commissie Onderhoud Eindtermen”.

Secondary positions
As of April 2015, Barbara Majoor is employed by the Dutch Regulator AFM, where she is focusing on the reform of the accounting profession in the Netherlands and the related monitoring program.

Barbara is a member of the editorial staff of the ‘Maandblad voor Bedrijfsadministratie en Organisatie’.

She was a Deloitte partner until April 2015. Within Deloitte, she was responsible for Quality Management and Risk Management and liaison (compliance officer of Deloitte) to the Dutch Supervisory Body (AFM). She was also involved in the development of audit methodology and innovation.

Until December 2008, she was a partner at KPMG, where she worked for the Department of Professional Practice and was responsible for Ethics & Independence.

From 2009 until 2015, Barbara Majoor was a member of the disciplinary law court for accountants in the Netherlands. She was also the Dutch representative at the Ethics Standards Board of Accountants (IESBA; 2005-2009), one of the bodies of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
