Indian Institute of Management Calcutta

Prof. Balram Avittathur is a Professor in the Operations Management Group of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and is a faculty member of the institute since 1999. He has a doctorate degree in Management from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (Fellow, IIMB). His doctoral thesis was in the area of Supply Chain Management. Supply Chain Management is his primary area of research, consulting and teaching interests. He has many articles on Operations Management in international journals and magazines. He has conducted various corporate training programmes and has also served as consultant for different Indian corporate concerns.

  • Graduation: B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, NIT Rourkela, 1989.

  • Recipient of Fulbright Post-Doctoral Research Scholarship for the year 2002-2003 (worked with Dr Paul M. Swamidass of Auburn University, USA)
