Biography

Cranfield School of Management

Background

Anurag holds double masters from Cranfield University; an MSc in Logistics and Supply chain and an MRes in business. Prior to this he did B.Tech in Chemical engineer from Sir Harcourt Butler Technological University of Kanpur (HBTI Kanpur). After completing his PhD on complex and evolutionary aspect of supply chain networks and the mediating role of micro agent interactions in determining the co- evolutionary and self-organizing network behaviours, from the Complex Systems Research Centre in Cranfield University, Anurag joined  Complex Systems Research Centre as a researcher.  During his doctoral tenure at Cranfield university, he has assisted in various British and European funded research projects undertaken by the complex systems research centre. His particular expertise lies in the  modelling, visualization and interpretation of large complex systems.

Anurag has also been actively involved with teaching. He has been a module leader for the course ‘Business Information systems’ at the University of Buckingham  for 3 years. He has also taught operations management course at the University of Buckingham and many other  third and final year courses at HBTI Kanpur. He has a sound knowledge of programming in Java and an advance proficiency in SPSS and NVIVO. Anurag particularly specializes in the modelling of large socio-economic or technical complex systems using  agent based and system dynamics techniques.

Current activities

Anurag is a Research Fellow of Complexity Science for Complex Engineering Systems. His current theme of research is focused on defining and investigating the concept of resilience for complex engineering systems. Anurag is also actively involved with vulnerability and disruption research of complex supply chain networks. For interrogating the phenomenon of supply chain risk and disruption, he chooses to adopt a critical realist stance with a grounding in complex systems'' theory. The research particularly focuses on a mechanism based view of the phenomenon and takes a mixed methods approach of statistical data analysis along with a qualitative data analysis using a retroductive logic in combination with a grounded theory framework.
