McCourt School of Public Policy
Angela M. Antonelli is a Research Professor and the Executive Director of the Center for Retirement Initiatives (CRI) at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy. She also is a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration. During her career, Ms. Antonelli has held senior management positions developing and overseeing the implementation of financial services, health, housing, labor and other economic policies for the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and as the Senate confirmed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) with responsibility for the budget and financial management of a $30 billion cabinet department. She began her career working on banking issues for the U.S. General Accountability Office (GAO). In addition to her government service, Ms. Antonelli has been a public sector consultant and the Director of the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation. She has written dozens of articles and testified several times before Congress on economic policy, regulatory reform and management issues. Ms. Antonelli is relied upon for her insights and opinions on issues related to retirement security and savings, including options for plan design and related legal and regulatory considerations. She serves as an advisor to state retirement programs and working groups and is currently a member of the World Economic Forum’s Retirement Investment Systems Reform Project. Throughout her career, her views, articles and work in national media, such as Pensions & Investments, Bloomberg BNA, The New York Times, the Washington Post, Roll Call, Fortune and Business Week. She has appeared on radio and television, including CNN, Fox, C-SPAN and PBS. She has a B.A., summa cum laude, from Cornell University and an MPA with honors from Princeton University and is a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
