Biography
Andrew Predmore is the associate director of Sustainability at Indiana University where he is responsible for cultivating the 2020 Transitions Lab, IU''s take on the national living-learning laboratory model for sustainability teaching and learning. The Transitions Lab fosters collaboration between university operations, academics, and the Hoosier community to accelerate student learning and sustainability. At IU, Predmore teaches a course in sustainability research methods for the new Sustainability Scholars program, which involves freshmen and sophomores in research on sustainability.
Prior to joining the IU Office of Sustainability, Predmore was an assistant professor of environmental studies at the University of Illinois Springfield where he taught courses in natural resource policy and administration, environmental communication, and environmental ethics. Predmore’s research is focused on interdisciplinary teams and leadership in natural resource management, environmental planning on federal lands, the science-policy interface, and sustainability pedagogy. Predmore’s work has been published in Society and Natural Resources, Journal of Forestry, Environmental Planning and Management, Journal of Environmental Management, and Innovative Higher Education.
