It allows for success by creating synergy between projects within the portfolio so that they support each other in meeting the global goals of the organization. Understanding how to manage resources such as time, cost, and internal and external staff members across the portfolio can make the difference between portfolio success and failure.

This course provides portfolio management tools and techniques to help you manage the portfolio and project resources to improve performance in your organization. Students will apply processes and create deliverables of effective portfolio management practices.

The course provides a structured approach to creating and managing a project portfolio. It helps students understand the value of portfolio management; identify and explain the portfolio stakeholder roles and responsibilities; define and understand a portfolio management process; identify tools, techniques, and best practices for portfolio management; and identify the roles of the program management office (PMO) or portfolio executive office (PEO) in effective portfolio management.
