About the course

Collaboration is essential to the new boundary less organizational structure. Positively channeling the various archetypal influences and integrating effective cross-functional teamwork within the organization is a key role of the manager.

In this course, students will gain an understanding of the fundamental skills necessary for leading teams and achieving results through others. This course will include topics such as performance management and corrective action, team development, cross-functional coordination, change management, diversity in the workplace, and employee engagement. The course will also focus on soft skills development in the areas of active listening, conflict resolution, communication, coaching, and feedback

Course Objectives

On completion of this course, participants will:

  • Understand the differences between management and leadership, and identify the key performance indicators and competencies of successful managers;
  • Gain basic skill sets of the necessary soft and hard skills to manage organizations and people more effectively;
  • Discover the importance of building a trusting, positive, and respectful work environment;
  • Apply basic communication techniques to manage performance and influence others in the organization;
  • Gain tools to better align employee capabilities to organizational requirements;
  • Develop techniques for addressing performance problems and articulating the potential impact to the organization and individual;
