Assistant Professor Goh is a registered nurse and mental health nurse with more than two decades of working experience in different mental health settings. Before joining the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, he lectured at Nanyang Polytechnic and was a course coordinator for five cohorts of mental health specialisation programmes.

Since 2009, Dr Goh has been actively involved in research. His main research interests include community engagement and reintegration of people experiencing mental health conditions and the use of innovative pedagogies in teaching mental health nursing. His previous research topics include acculturation of the international healthcare workforce, nursing management issues, community nursing as well as mental well‐being for healthy adults.

Dr Goh is also an active peer reviewer for various international double-blind peer reviewed journals and open access journals and for professional organisations such as Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
