Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management

Zhu Yan is a full professor at the Department of Management Science and Engineering in the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua Univeristy. He is also Associate Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua Univeristy. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua Univeristy in 1998 and B.S. in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua Univeristy in 1994. He conducted his Postdoctoral research at the Department of Management Science and Engineering in the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua Univeristy from 2000 to 2002. His research interests focus on Internet Behavior and Internet Economy, E-Commerce, Trust Management and Healthcare Management, etc. Dr. Zhu teaches Information System (MBA), Information Management (MBA/EMBA), Enterprise Resource Planning (MBA), Introduction to Information Management (Undergraduate) at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua Univeristy, in which Introduction to Information Management has been the Elaborate Course of Tsinghua University.

Professor Zhu has been the project leader or key member of several research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) as well as some corporate consultation projects with SIEMENS and Yongyou ERP NC, etc. He has published more than 20 articles in several important international and Chinese journals, and is also co-author of two books, including Enterprise Resource Planning (TUP, 2007) and Management Information Systems (TUP, 2010). He also developed several Cases based on Chinese firms. His awards include “Science and Technology Progress Award Class II, China Petrochemical Association (2011)”, “Best Case Award, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (2006)”, “Best Paper Award, Chinese Information Association (2006)”, “Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award Class Ⅲ(2005)”, “State Scholarship Fund Award, Granted by China Scholarship Council (2002)” and “Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award Class II (2001)”.

Professor Zhu has been visiting professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, HK (2002/7-2002/8); MIT Sloan School of Management, USA (2003/7-2004/1) and Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, USA (2004/1-2004/7).
