Background
Yan Dong is a BPF Distinguished Moore Fellow and an Associate Professor in supply chain and operations management. Before he joined the Moore School in 2014, he also taught at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland and the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He holds a Ph.D. in Supply Chain and Operations Management from the University of Maryland, and he worked as a supply chain management consultant for IBM and the World Bank.
Dong's primary research interest is in supply chain management with a focus on supply chain governance and relationship. His more recent work studies product and service failure, mobile technologies, global supply chains and outsourcing, and sustainable operations. His work has appeared in Management Science, Manufacturing, Services, & Operations Management, Marketing Science, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, Transportation Research and Journal of Business Logistics. He is a senior editor for Production and Operations Management and an associate editor for Journal of Operations Management.
