Boston University

Professor Eldred is a professor of biology and biochemistry whose research interests include visual neurobiology and traumatic brain injury. He runs the Eldred lab, which focuses on many different aspects of retinal neurochemistry and cell biology in both normal and pathological retinas. His research for the past 15 years has focused on the role of the gaseous neuromodulator nitric oxide (NO) in retinal signal transduction and ocular pathology.
