Biography

Wenjuan Qin is Assistant Professor at Fudan University, College of Foreign Languages and Literature. She graduated from Harvard University with a Doctoral Degree in Human Development and Education.

With interest in both linguistics and education, her teaching and researching primarily focus on language development of children and adolescents from various sociocultural backgrounds, and how that development is shaped by both home and school contexts. She conducts empirical studies, both quantitative and qualitative in nature, to address three lines of research area:

  • Writing development of second language learners, especially how they deploy different linguistic forms to write across genres, registers and communicative contexts.
  • The development of academic language skills that support successful school-relevant reading and writing.
  • The influence of home literacy activity on children's language developme
