Full-time Professor in the Department of Finance at Universidad del Pacífico and Associate Researcher at the same house of studies. He is a Ph.D. in Economics from Fordham University, specializing in foreign exchange, portfolio management of global risk factors and cryptocurrencies. Also, he has an M.A. in Economics from Rutgers University and a Bachelor´s degree in Economics from Universidad de San Martín de Porres. Professor Bazan has carried out research work at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), the Center for International Policy Studies (CIPS) at Fordham University, the Center for Competitiveness and Development (CCD) and the Institute of Peru. His research has been honored with awards, such as the Ramón Areces Foundation Award, from the Spanish Economic Association (2018), Doctor Manuel Noriega Morales from the Bank of Guatemala (2017), Luis Felipe De las Casas Grieve, from the Banco Central de Reserva del Peru (2010) and CIES Research Contest (2009). Similarly, for his academic dedication, Fordham University chose him as an outstanding student of the Doctorate in Economics in 2019, granting him the GSAS Teaching Fellowship 2017-2019, the GSAS Student Support Grant Fall 2017, the GSAS Summer Research Fellowship 2017, the GSAS Summer Graduate Assistantship 2016, the Professional Development Grant Fall 2016, a Graduate Assistantship 2015-2017. Other universities and institutions have also awarded him: Graduate School Excellence Fellowship 2012-2013 (Rutgers University), Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society, Prima AFP 2008 Excellence Award, Comprehensive Undergraduate Scholarship (Universidad de San Martin de Porres), among others.
