Biography

Harvard Graduate School of Design

Victoria Hagan is an award-winning designer whose work reflects the New American Classic — a modern sense of luxury that is fresh, restrained and iconic.

Since founding her eponymous firm 25 years ago, Victoria Hagan has been celebrated for her intelligent integration of architecture and interior design. Based in New York City, Victoria’s 26-person firm works on luxury residences throughout the country, providing a full range of interior design and renovation services, all bearing her signature classic American style.

Eschewing any one particular design vernacular, Victoria’s projects have ranged from sprawling country homes to elegant city residences. Recent commissions include the complete renovation of a 20,000-square-foot historical Manhattan townhouse; the renovation of a multi-building oceanfront family compound in Florida; a modern home carved out of the side of a mountain in Aspen, Colorado; an 8,000-acre ranch; a Central Park penthouse perched on a top floor of the legendary Plaza Hotel; and the renovation of Number One Observatory Circle, the official residence of the Vice President of the United States in Washington, D.C. In addition, the firm has designed multiple homes for clients in cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, the Hamptons, Martha’s Vineyard, San Francisco, and Greenwich.

The firm’s portfolio also includes a number of noted hospitality and commercial projects throughout the country, including a re-imagining of the famed Golden Door Spa in California, and several prominent luxury residential developments in New York City.

In addition to interior design services, Victoria Hagan consults closely with her clients from the earliest stages of a project to ‎guide the design process and identify a team to best meet their specific needs, be they architecture, lighting design, landscape design, construction and/or project management. She is typically involved in most phases of design development.

VH Collections, Victoria’s furniture, fabric, and rug lines, was launched in 2002 and is available through designer showrooms across the country. Handcrafted in the United States, the collection embodies the firm’s ethos and approach, allowing designers and consumers to layer her collection into their own personal designs.

Victoria has been awarded many of the country’s top design honors, including Architectural Digest’s AD100. She has also been inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame. A graduate of the Parsons School of Design, she serves on the school’s Board of Governors and has endowed a scholarship for its new MFA program in Interior Design. Her first book, Victoria Hagan: Interior Portraits, was published by Rizzoli in 2010. A second volume, Victoria Hagan: Dream Spaces, was released in October 2017.
