Varun Gupta is the Director of Human Resources at IBM. In his current role, Varun leads HR for IBM Research, one of the world’s largest and most influential corporate research labs with more than 3000 researchers in 12 labs located across six continents. Varun also focuses the development and growth of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Quantum computing skills at IBM. Varun has an MBA in HR from XLRI, India and is currently pursuing the Program for Leadership Development from Harvard Business School. An IBMer for the last 10 years, Varun has had diverse experiences in HR, including Compensation & Benefits, Talent & People Strategy, Leadership Development & Coaching, Organization design and Business Unit HR leadership. Prior to working with IBM, Varun has held different leadership roles with HCL Technologies, Hewlett Packard and Applied Materials. Varun enjoys running and will be running the NYC Marathon for the 3rd consecutive year in November and is training for the Boston Marathon in 2019.
