Dr. Vanita Singh holds a Ph.D. degree in Public Policy (Public Systems) from IIM Ahmedabad and Masters in Public Health from TISS, Mumbai. She has worked with Reliance Industries Ltd. for the design and implementation of hospital management information system for RIL Project: Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Mumbai. She was awarded Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Social Medicine and Community Health by UGC in the year 2013. She is currently working as a co-investigator on multiple projects in the healthcare domain funded by WHO and Department of Science & Technology (DST). She serves as a mentor at The George Institute (TGI) for Global Health India Health Accelerator Programme.

Her research interests include health systems & policy analysis, policy design and implementation, technology & development, and gender & health. She has published her work in several ABDC listed and SCOPUS indexed journals. She has presented her work at various prestigious national and international conferences including, Sixth Asia Pacific Public Policy Network (AP-PPN) in 2021, Hong Kong; 16th World Congress on Public Health in 2020 organized by European Public Health Association; XV International Conference of Public Policy and Management (2020), Centre for Public Policy (CPP) IIM Bangalore; and Fourth Pan-IIM World Management Conference (2015). Prior to joining MDI, she was working as Assistant Professor (Public Policy) at VPSM, D Y Patil University, Navi Mumbai, and as a visiting faculty at School of Health System Studies, TISS, Mumbai.
