Biography:
Mr. Trond Varlid has extensive international marketing and senior executive experience from Europe, the U.S. and Asia.
His career experience includes 15 years in corporate banking in London and Tokyo, two years as Japan country manager for an Asian online wealth management company based in Singapore, and 7 years as President of Tomra Japan—an environmental technology joint venture between Sumitomo Corporation and Tomra, a pioneer and global market leader in sorting technology for materials recycling.
He is President and Co-Founder EMC Quest K.K., helping business professionals in Tokyo become better presenters and communicators—and coaches executives on dealing with difficult management, HR and personal challenges.
He is currently also Program Director of the JMEC Business Training Program in Tokyo, a unique and hands-on training program for mid-career business professionals—operated by 18 foreign Chambers of Commerce in Japan.
