The London School of Economics and Political Science
Dr Thomas J. Leeper is a Senior Visiting Fellow in the Department of Methodology at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Research Scientist at Facebook London. He works on Facebook's Core Data Science team, the mission of which is to conduct large-scale, global, quantitative research to gain deeper insights into how people interact with each other and the world around them.
Prior to joining Facebook, he was Associate Professor in Political Behaviour at LSE and earlier a Postdoc at Aarhus University in Aarhus, Denmark. His research uses quantitative, survey, and experimental methods to understand human social behaviour, including methodological research on survey experimentation and the development of computational tools for social scientists. He is the author of more than 30 R packages and his work has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Public Opinion Quarterly, Journal of Experimental Political Science, Political Behavior, Political Psychology, The R Journal, and elsewhere. He holds degrees in political science from the Northwestern University and the University of Minnesota.
