Biography

Kelley School of Business

From the messages we send to the items we buy, we display our values to the world. I believe we are all connected in a web of both purpose and chaos. And my greatest contribution to the world is helping students navigate this web, refining their ability to present, persuade, and progress.

Education

  • Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne
    • Master of Arts, Professional Communication Studies 2009 – 2011
  • Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne
    • Bachelor of Arts Interpersonal and Organizational Communication 2007 – 2009

Experience

  • Indiana University - Kelley School of Business
    • Lecturer 2015 – Present

I teach C104, Business Presentations. In this course, my students learn to craft and deliver informed, relevant, and persuasive messages. While it may seem simple, this is not an easy task because communication is a complex process with underlying and powerful elements like bias, apprehension, message resistance, and nonverbal impact. This nuanced complexity led naturally to my fascination with effective communication early in college and continues to drive my interest in and passion for the course. One of my favorite aspects of teaching C104 is seeing the tremendous growth in speaking ability and confidence students achieve during the semester.
