Biography

Georgia Tech Professional Education

I am a Creator/Teacher type and I excel at bringing others to an understanding of challenging concepts. I am happiest when I see those I help become successful.

I believe that to be successful one needs to be able to first clearly articulate his purpose in life. My personal purpose is to uncover the strengths in each person, recognize the opportunities in each situation, and illuminate the paths that lead to a fulfilling life for others and me. This personal purpose statement is at the foundation of my professional objective; to use my extensive experience, team-building skills, and communication gifts to enable efficient, effective, and professional engineering and analytical practices to add value to both organizations and individuals.

I am a retired civilian from the Department of Navy where I worked in various capacities for over thirty years, supporting both Navy and Marine Corps technology efforts. At the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren, I was the Senior Strategist for Modeling & Simulation in the Missile Systems Engineering and Integration Branch, and lead our M&S Community of Interest. I was the lead for the Naval Sea Systems Command's M&S Forum, a member of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy’s M&S Leadership Council, and a member of the Naval M&S Education Committee. I was a principal member of the Secretary of the Navy’s team assessing Virtual and Synthetic Environments for the Navy. With the U.S. Marine Corps I was the Marine Corps Systems Command’s Technical Area Expert for Modeling & Simulation and the Chief Engineer for the Marine Corps' Framework for Assessing Cost and Technology.

Fore several years I was President of Infinity Technology Associates, Inc., a Mathworks Development partner that provided engineering education and consultation to government, the auto industry, and research institutions. Beyond my technical areas, I was President of the Rappahannock Youth Symphony and a Lay Speaker with the United Methodist Church.
