Biography

Terence T. Ow is an Associate Professor of Information Technology in the Management Department. He is a recipient of the John P. Raynor, S.J., Faculty Award, Marquette University highest honor for Teaching Excellence. He was inducted as an honorary faculty member of Alpha Sigma Nu, Jesuit Honor Society for his dedication to the Jesuit ideals of scholarship, loyalty and service at Marquette University. Dr. Ow was previously a faculty at the Wisconsin School of Business, University of Wisconsin-Madison and Mendoza College of Business at University of Notre Dame prior to his appointment at Marquette University.

His research has been published in information systems and management science journals including MIS Quarterly, Journal of Operations Management, Communications of the ACM, Decision Sciences, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Fuzzy Sets and Systems and European Journal of Operational Research.

He has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses including IT strategy, systems analysis and design, database management systems, introductory course in IT, java programming, emerging technology, web applications development using PHP and MySQL.

He was a recipient of the Miles Teaching Fellow, and the Faculty Advisor of the Year for his involvement with the IT Student Organization (ITSO). He was a member of the steering committee for the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference 2009, served as a member of technology task force for United Performing Arts Fund 2009-2012. He has presented at Kohl’s Corporate on retail challenges and transformation enabled by technology. He has also been cited in Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and BizTimes Magazine of Milwaukee on topics such as mobile banking, mobile technology and internet access for the consumers
