Center for Creative Leadership

Ted is a former senior faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership.

In addition to classroom and programmatic work, Ted provided in-depth assessment, feedback and coaching to senior executives and their teams. Prior to joining CCL, Ted had a private practice in clinical psychology for 15 years. He was also a vice president in The Learning Organization at Prudential Financial in Newark, NJ. His work there included not only U.S.-based training, business consultation, and coaching, but he co-designed and delivered the first non-U.S. company manager evelopment program (in Korea), and using translators, trained Korean-speaking staff to independently deliver culturally adapted training to employees.

Ted received a B.A. in Psychology and Education from Central College in Pella, Iowa. His M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology were obtained from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has held adjunct professor positions at the University of Denver, University of Colorado, and the University of Southern Colorado.

Ted co-designed the Center’s “Coaching for Development” open-enrollment program and wrote many of the tools and instructional materials for that course; he delivers “Coach the Coach” custom training to business leaders, with the goal of making “coaching and developing others” a core competency for leaders at all levels of the organization. He is lead author of the chapter “Coaching Senior Leaders,” in the CCL Handbook of Coaching, published in 2006 by Jossey-Bass.
