As a clinical associate professor of marketing at Boston University, she plays an active role in instructing and revitalizing MBA, master's, and undergraduate curricula. With two decades of experience, she has devoted herself to educating and mentoring students across all academic tiers, spanning from undergraduates to MBA and PhD candidates. Her most recent accomplishment involves the creation of an innovative master's in management program tailored for STEM students at Questrom.

The most gratifying aspect of her role revolves around guiding students in the classroom, enabling them to bridge the gap between theory and real-world application, and supporting their endeavors to achieve professional success beyond the confines of academia.

She has earned accolades for her teaching, including the prestigious MBA Educator of Distinction award, as well as recognition for her research, including a prize from the Society for Consumer Psychology for her outstanding dissertation. In addition to her academic accomplishments, she has been a frequent contributor to the discourse on marketing strategy, practices, and trends, making appearances as a media commentator for NPR, Poets and Quants, The Denver Post, KGO, and Glamour.

Her teaching interests revolve around offering a comprehensive view of the business landscape, encompassing areas such as marketing principles, research methodologies, experimental design, marketing strategy, and consumer behavior. She has been a trailblazer in incorporating experiential learning into the classroom by collaborating with local businesses to identify consulting projects aimed at crafting growth strategies.

Her research endeavors, which have been presented both nationally and internationally, delve into the intricacies of why and how impactful marketing influences consumers. Her current research interests encompass innovation, evolutionary psychology, and financial decision-making. She has authored papers exclusively featured in top-tier marketing journals, driven by her passion for assessing the practical application of conceptual frameworks.

Consequently, she has cultivated numerous academic-professional partnerships and worked closely with senior executives from esteemed organizations such as Bose, Quintiles, AT&T, PUMA, Uber, Leo Burnett, Arnold Worldwide, Thermo Fisher, and others. These collaborations have yielded case studies, research projects, and lectures centered around marketing, strategy, and innovation.

Furthermore, she has collaborated with secondary schools to develop business-oriented curricula that enrich the educational experiences of their students. Noteworthy institutions she has worked with include Vail Mountain School (Vail, Colorado), Monarch High School (Superior, Colorado), and Western Reserve Academy (Hudson, Ohio).

She holds a PhD in marketing and an MBA in marketing and finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. In her undergraduate years, she pursued a degree in English literature, specializing in poetry, at the University of Pennsylvania. Before embarking on her graduate studies in management, she worked as a journalist at The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, the Associated Press, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Born in Taegu, South Korea, she grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and currently resides in Wellesley, Massachusetts, with her husband, Julien, who is a corporate strategist for Medtronic, and their two sons, Harrison and Benjamin.
