Susan Bishop, PhD operates a consulting practice specializing in executive recruitment of senior level executives in the Media and Entertainment field. She has run her company for over 25 years, and has a well- known clientele of established media companies, as well as smaller and more recent entrepreneurial ventures. Her activities involve working with the CEO's and Heads of HR at media companies to understand the needs of the firm, creating position descriptions to define the potential strategic initiatives and objectives of the Executive being hired. Over 500 hours per year are spent on this consulting practice, including time at industry conferences and events.
Client organizations have included NBC, Showtime Networks, HBO, ESPN, AOL, Ozy.com, The Disney/ABC Corporation, Turner Broadcasting, Comcast Corporation, Radio City Music Hall, MTV Networks, Time Inc., Time Warner Cable, Martha Stewart Living, Hearst Corporation, Al Jazeera Media, Univision, and many more.
Dr. Bishop attends National and Global industry conferences on a regular basis, reads professional journals and trade magazines, and regularly meets with executives in all areas of the industry (digital, broadcast, cable, publishing, NFP, film, live entertainment and publishing). She is a current member of several Associations including Women in Cable, BAFTA, CTAM and the Harvard Business School NY Network of Women Alumnae.
As Dr. Bishop teaches in the Arts and Entertainment Program within the Lubin School of Business. She is able to use her outside business skills to operationalize the theory taught in class, to provide speakers from the industry, and to use media case studies and personal examples in her classes.
