Center for Technology and Management Education

Steve McNamara has over 40 years of experience in supply chain management, major subcontractor management and supplier quality, specializing in the management of technically-complex development and production subcontractors on defense and communication space satellite systems, air combat systems and ground communication systems. He has worked with Alcatel, Ball Aerospace, Boeing, Eastman Kodak, Eaton, Hamilton Sundstrand, Hughes, Lockheed Martin, McDonnell Douglas, Motorola, Northrop Grumman, Parker Hannifin, TRW, and the United States Air Force.

Mr. McNamara most recently served as director of supplier quality and supplier quality operations manager for Northrop Grumman, where he developed the supplier quality management system and processes for the sector and led the design and development of the supplier rating system and counterfeit parts alert management system. Previous responsibilities include Material Program Manager for the F/A-18 program, Subcontract Project Manager for the Milstar Satellite Payload and Project Manager for the Defense Support Program Laser Communications Subsystem.

Mr. McNamara received an MSEE degree from Columbia University, an MBA from California State University Dominguez Hills, and a BS in Engineering Science from Hofstra University. He has also received extensive training in the AS9100 quality standard, Lean Aerospace practices, and Six Sigma.
