Dr Stephen Onakuse received his early education from Bendel State College of Agriculture, and from the University of Agriculture Abeokuta (Nigeria). Stephen graduated with an MSc in Environmental Biology from the University of Ibadan (Nigeria) and his PhD in Food Business and Development from University College Cork. I have also obtained a Postgraduate Certificate, a Postgraduate Diploma and an MA, all in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from the University College Cork. Stephen is a lecturer in the Department of Food Business & Development and Deputy Director, Centre for Sustainable Livelihoods (CSL), also at University College Cork. His research areas includes agricultural research for development (ARD), food systems, research and project management, institutional partnership, applied research for development, and collective action in a diversity of institutions, societies and cultures. Stephen currently leads the Agris Mundus MSc in Agriculture for Sustainable development. Stephen is the Principal Investigator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) project on Sustainable production and consumption 2019-2020 and has been involved as co-PI in EU Agris Mundus and Agtrain projects implementation particularly in capacity building in third level sector around the world. He has also worked on commercialization of smallholders, organic certification and livelihood/sustainability interactions. He has supervised a number MSc and PhDs projects to completion.
