Mr. Delaney has over 40 years’ experience in municipal management, with his current position being that of director of human resources in Danvers, Massachusetts. He has previously served as town administrator in Georgetown and Wenham, Massachusetts. His prior service has included acting town manager responsibilities in Duxbury and Southbridge, Massachusetts. He also has public works experience, having served as the operations director in a medium-sized community; and has undertaken numerous consulting engagements in the practice areas of public works and human resources.

For the past 25 years, Delaney has also served as an adjunct faculty member at several area colleges, including Endicott College, Nichols College, and Northern Essex Community College. His teaching assignments have included courses in political science, history, and management. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at Boston University since 2006.

Professionally, Delaney is a past member of ICMA (International City County Management Association), and held Credentialed Manager certification. He has served as a member of the Acting Manager Task Force, and in 2005 served on the VP Nominating Committee. Delaney has served as a member of: the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Municipal Management Association, the “manager in transition” committee, and the mentoring program for young professionals.
