Sri Priya Ponnapalli

Ponnapalli is senior data scientist at Amazon AI where she helps AWS customers accelerate AI and cloud adoption by engaging in executive ideation sessions, proof of concept modeling, and launching new ML-based workloads on AWS. She is a senior research affiliate at the Genomic Processing Lab at the University of Utah. She is CEO and co-founder of Eigengene, a startup fighting cancer with data and mathematics. She has helped companies establish and build data science teams; her consulting portfolio included Genentech and Roche.

Prior to this she was the founding data science lead at JPMorgan Chase. Prior to that she was a senior software engineer on the machine learning team at Bloomberg LP, where she initiated and led the development and deployment of the first social media analytics tool in finance - Bloomberg Social Velocity. For her Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, she developed the higher-order generalized singular value decomposition, the only framework that can create a single coherent model from multiple two-dimensional datasets, by extending the generalized singular value decomposition (GSVD) from two to more than two matrices.
