Presentation
My research concerns the development of firms in developing countries. I work on issues regarding local factors which influence the development and growth potential of developing country firms (or lack of same). I focus on SMEs, CSR and driving forces (or lack of same) for strategies of SMEs in developing countries in engaging in CSR (or not engaging). Major research projects concern Successful African Firms and Institutional Change,Youth, Entrepreneurship and Employment in Ghana, Uganda and Zambia, and the importance of Codes of Conduct for working conditions in the textiles and clothing industry in Southern Africa.
