Sophia Romee

Sophia Romee is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service of NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She has developed and taught in-person and online courses on data visualization and storytelling for multiple Wagner programs. Sophia enjoys sharing her passion for developing actionable insights to influence data-driven decision making, helping her students apply practical skills to their own professional contexts.

As a mixed methods researcher and data strategist, Sophia has spent the last 10+ years addressing complex educational issues, promoting access and equity through evidence-based innovation. Currently, she is the Director of Strategy at The College Board, advising the organization on assessing and expanding innovative initiatives to advance educational equity at scale. Previously, Sophia was the Director of Research & Analytics at NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship), heading up organizational research on youth entrepreneurial mindset. While at NFTE, she also led the development of new data systems and reporting, including the introduction of Tableau, fostering a data-driven culture org-wide and dramatically increasing program efficiencies.

Sophia considers herself to be an NYU lifer. She previously served as an advisor to the Dean of the Undergraduate College at NYU Stern. Sophia received her MPA in Policy from the NYU Wagner School of Public Service and holds a BA in Anthropology and Social Entrepreneurship, also from NYU.
