Background
Sophia Hamm joined the Fisher College of Business in Autumn 2010.
Professor Hamm’s primary research interests relate to the role of accounting disclosure and information asymmetry in capital markets, index trading and institutional investors, executive compensations, labor unions, and earnings management. Her papers have been published in Journal of Accounting Research and Contemporary Accounting Research.
Professor Hamm teaches Intermediate Financial Accounting. Prior to joining Fisher, she taught Introduction to Financial Accounting at Wharton.
Professor Hamm received her B.B.A in Business from Seoul National University, her M.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and her Ph.D. in Accounting from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to her doctoral work, she worked as a senior consultant at PWC Korea.
