Smita Aggarwal

Smita Aggarwal, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and pediatric dermatologist at Medical Dermatology Associates of Chicago in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Her mission is to provide compassionate and personalized care to patients of all ages, and she is passionate about assisting pediatric patients with dermatology needs.

Dr. Aggarwal specializes in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, vascular birthmarks, psoriasis, and the prevention and management of skin cancer.

Dr. Aggarwal earned her undergraduate degree at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Then she traveled to Lawrence, Kansas, to complete her medical degree at the University of Kansas.

In Chicago, Dr. Aggarwal completed her dermatology residency at Loyola University Medical Center, where she earned the MAGIS Star Award. Also in Chicago, she also completed a fellowship at Lurie Children’s Hospital, which is anchored by Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the flagship campus of Northwestern University’s School of Medicine.

An avid researcher, Dr. Aggarwal has published and presented on many topics, including infantile hemangiomas, acne, and toxic epidermal necrolysis. She also conducted vaccine development research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Aggarwal is a member of the Chicago Dermatological Society and the Society for Pediatric Dermatology; she is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
