Biography
My research interests in tectonic geomorphology are based around landscape response to climate change and tectonic processes. This includes:
- the impact of glacial erosion on previously fluvially-sculpted mountain ranges
- the response of fluvial and glacial landscapes to active tectonics
- erosion and sediment routing in active extensional settings
The tools I use include:
- fieldwork (mapping and surveying)
- digital topography and satellite imagery analysis
- numerical modelling
- cosmogenic isotope and optically stimulated luminescence dating
I also work on a range of timescales from cumulative effects over the duration of the Quaternary to individual events such as landslides and rockfalls.
