Biography

My research interests in tectonic geomorphology are based around landscape response to climate change and tectonic processes. This includes:

  • the impact of glacial erosion on previously fluvially-sculpted mountain ranges
  • the response of fluvial and glacial landscapes to active tectonics
  • erosion and sediment routing in active extensional settings

The tools I use include:

  • fieldwork (mapping and surveying)
  • digital topography and satellite imagery analysis
  • numerical modelling
  • cosmogenic isotope and optically stimulated luminescence dating

I also work on a range of timescales from cumulative effects over the duration of the Quaternary to individual events such as landslides and rockfalls.
