Dr. Shimin Chen is Professor of Accounting, Zhu Xiaoming Chair in Accounting, Director of Case Development Centre at CEIBS. Previously, he held the position of Associate Head and Associate Professor of Accounting at School of Accounting and Finance, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before that and after completing his Ph.D. at the University of Georgia, Dr. Chen taught at the Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Lingnan University in Hong Kong and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Dr. Chen has extensive experience in teaching and research. He has taught various undergraduate, Master and Ph.D. level courses in universities and has been actively involved in Executive Education. Over the years, Dr. Chen has received many teaching/research awards and grants. He has published numerous articles in leading academic journals internationally including_ The Accounting Review, Accounting Horizons, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Behavioral Research in Accounting, International Journal of Auditing, Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting, The International Journal of Accounting, The Journal of Accounting and Finance Research, Journal of International Accounting Research, Journal of Managerial Issues , China Accounting and Finance Review_, etc. He is also a contributing author for Asian Accounting Handbook and_ Accounting and Auditing in the People''s Republic of China_. Since 2005, he has been an executive editor of China Accounting and Finance Review. In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Chen serves as an independent non-executive director in companies listed in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.
