Eli Broad College of Business
Dr. Shawnee Vickery is the Demmer Endowed Professor of Business Transformation; Faculty Director of the Demmer Center for Business Transformation; Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management; and co-founder of the Master’s of Science in Supply Chain Management in the Eli Broad College of Business.
Vickery joined Broad College’s faculty in 1984, and is recognized for her expertise in operations strategy, production competence, and supply chain integration. Her work is published in Management Science, Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions in Engineering Management, Production and Operations Management Journal, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Supply Chain Management and others. She has co-authored Operations Management: Concepts in Manufacturing and Services, has served on the editorial board for the Journal of Operations Management, and currently serves as the Senior Editor for Global Operations Strategy for the Production and Operations Management Journal and as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Supply Chain Management.
She has received awards and recognition for her teaching performance and programmatic development including the Richard J. Lewis Quality of Excellence Faculty Award for developing the Master’s of Science program in Manufacturing and Innovation for working engineers, engineering managers, and operations managers. She has served the Broad College of Business in various capacities, including Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Research (2006-2008) and Co-Director of the Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (2008-2011). She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in business administration from the University of South Carolina.
