Dr Goh Seo Kiat is a fellowship-trained senior consultant orthopaedic surgeon in the department. He reads medicine in the University of Cambridge in England and subsequently qualified in 2000 with degrees of Master of Arts, Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery. He subsequently returned to Singapore, completed his orthopaedic surgical training in 2008 and was elected a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Goh was amongst the pioneer batch of doctors who was awarded the Ministry of Health Training Scholarship in 2008. He went on to pursue an eighteen-month surgical fellowship in London, England. During this time, he worked with master surgeons in two major London teaching hospitals. He has spent time as a pelvis, and hip and knee replacement fellow in the St. George’s Hospital NHS Trust, and then as a hip fellow in the Guys & St. Thomas Hospital NHS Trust.
His clinical interests are in the areas of reconstruction of pelvic and acetabular trauma, osteoporotic fractures in the elderly, hip and knee replacements as well as minimally invasive treatment of hip disorders in young adults. Dr Goh is a strong advocate of introducing the latest computer technologies into orthopaedic surgery. He is well-versed in computer navigation-assisted total knee and hip replacements. He is also one of four surgeons in Singapore who has been trained in South Korea in the field of Robodoc-assisted total knee replacement.
Besides his clinical practice, Dr Goh has been active in medical research and has published articles in top peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals. He is also a regular reviewer of regional and international orthopaedic journals.
