Biography

Professor Gallin is a Managing Director of PineBridge Investments and Vantage Capital LP, a private equity fund. Since joining in 2002, he has led investments in a number of growth equity and LBO transactions and is responsible for a portfolio of investments in sectors such as healthcare, consumer products, information technology and transportation. He currently is a Director of Faith Media Holdings, Legendary Pictures, Best Brands, Flash Global Logistics and Body Shop of America. Previous board roles include directorships at Everest Connections and Advanstar Communications. Prior to joining PineBridge, he worked for Kluge & Co., the private equity arm of Metromedia Company, where he participated in the investment of more than $800 million of debt and equity capital in venture-stage, growth equity and buyout transactions. During his tenure at Kluge & Co., Gallin also served on deal teams that completed transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $5.0 billion and securities offerings worth more than $3.0 billion. Before entering private equity, he worked as a strategic consultant. Gallin serves on the Advisory Board of the Adolescent Health Center, an affiliate of Mt. Sinai Hospital, and is an informal advisor to the Acumen Fund. He has also worked as a pro bono consultant for the Children's Aid Society, a non-profit organization based in New York City that provides healthcare and other social services to children and their families, and Helen Keller International's Child Sight Program, a national program that provides eye care and corrective prescriptions to economically disadvantaged children. In 1997, Gallin lectured at the Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Non-Profit Management's Annual Leadership and Management Conference on how organizations can more effectively utilize the Internet to serve their customer base, expand their donor base and attract new volunteers. Gallin is a graduate of Columbia Business School and has been a member of the faculty since 2003. He has earned graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in 1995 and spent a year at McGill University in Montreal conducting research in labor and health economics. Scott currently lives in South Orange, NJ with his wife, Nina, and daughters, Hannah and Lilly.
