Scott Fisher is Director, Market Development at EVgo, the country’s largest electric vehicle fast charging network with 800 fast charging stations in over 35 metro markets. In this role, Scott focuses on building financing partnerships with governments, utilities and automakers to expand EVgo’s DC charging station footprint across the U.S.
EVgo was recently spun off from NRG Energy, where Scott worked for 10 years. Scott’s work at NRG including leading NRG’s R&D joint venture with the University of Delaware to develop vehicle-to-grid technology and initiating the company’s effort to develop community and shared solar. Scott also led NRG’s efforts to secure federal funding for its renewable development and clean coal projects and was the project director for NRG’s successful proposal to the Department of Energy (DOE) for a carbon capture and storage plant at NRG’s WA Parish coal plant in Texas. The project received a $200 million grant from DOE and began operations in Fall 2016 as the country’s first large scale carbon capture project at an existing coal plant. Scott''s previous experience includes corporate management consulting at Booz & Co (currently Strategy&), as well as 5 years at Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), New Jersey’s largest utility.
Scott has taught “Financing the Green Economy” as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia at Columbia University’s Earth Institute since 2011. He graduated from Yale School of Management and holds a BA from Vassar College.
