Research Summary
Savvas has been teaching at the London School of Economics for over 15 years in both graduate and executive education programmes using innovative online and face face teaching methods. He has previously consulted city and national governments on urban infrastructure strategies and the evaluation of urban projects. His most recent consultation included an infrastructure feasibility study in the Amsterdam metropolitan area on behalf of the Dutch Government. At the LSE, Savvas recently led the research of the 2013 Rio Urban Age conference. Over the last decade he has worked with over 300 graduate students on a case method led course on the economic and political analysis of urban projects with Philipp Rode. More recently he co-founded the Executive Masters in Cities. From 2009 to 2012, he was founder and CEO of Rankdesk, a property ranking algorithm for residential investors. From 2013 to 2016 he was Director of Infrastructure Economics at Siemens. He completed his PhD at Cambridge University in 2007 and trained as a development economist at UCL''s Development Planning Unit.
