Experience

Sarah has 15 years of experience conducting applied research and program evaluation. Before coming to CCL®, Sarah worked for Press Ganey Associates, a healthcare quality improvement organization where she supported clients’ efforts to improve patient satisfaction, safety culture and physician engagement through survey design, analysis and interpretation. Previously, she worked at the Center for Urban Research and Learning where she conducted multiple evaluations of complex initiatives including a city-run domestic violence help line, a housing program for chronically ill homeless individuals, and various youth programs. She also worked with local nonprofit organizations to assist in capacity building and development of strategic plans. Further, her graduate work focused on ethical decision making processes in teams. Sarah also taught undergraduate courses at Loyola University Chicago in Research Methods, Social Psychology and Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

Sarah has published her work in peer reviewed journals, and book chapters and most recently collaborated with her colleagues to publish the 3 edition of a book entitled Evaluating the Impact of Leadership Development. She has also authored and co-authored numerous white papers and reports on topics including the impact of executive coaching, managerial derailment, workplace engagement and trust,  innovation, corporate social responsibility and patient satisfaction. Sarah has presented her work at conferences including the American Evaluation Association conference, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists conference and the International Leadership Association conference.

Current Role

Sarah is a Senior Research Associate at CCL, serving as the program evaluator for a wide variety of leadership initiatives. Recent projects include evaluations of two large-scale leadership strategy initiatives in the energy sector, a program for frontline leaders in the manufacturing industry, and a community-based program for leaders working in the healthcare field.  Sarah also has experience in working with groups to assess the effectiveness of culture change initiatives in organizations and has experience utlizing a wide range of methodologies including the development of a rubric to assess changes on leadership culture to success case methodology to social network analysis.  Sarah also leads or is a member of several research projects. In this role, Sarah studies organizational attitudes and beliefs about leadership around the world, the role of developmental climate in developing leaders, and employee engagement.  In her multiple roles, she has partnered with organizations in multiple regions, including Canada, the U.S., India, Peru, Mexico and Qatar.
